I can’t believe it’s week 3 already! Geez time flies by when your having fun! So excited for movie night, it’s been a favorite themed night for a while. It was in Season 10 & Season 13! It was a huge success, and I assume it will be tonight as well! I love the movie and song choices for tonight! Also I’m so excited for Kevin Hart to be the guest judge tonight! We will all miss Len though :(, but Kevin will keep us entertained! Let’s get to the dancing!
Randy Couture & Karina Smirnoff (Paso Doble) - Perfect movie for him “Rocky”! I love his intensity for this dance, he really got into it, throwing Karina everywhere and bringing the power of the song. However you have to have certain shapes for the paso doble, and he was a little too rough at times and loosing control. If he just refines his movements, and keep the shapes up it’ll look better! However he did a good job!(7,7,6,6=26)
Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson (Quickstep) - “Austin Powers Goldmemeber” was perfect for Alfonso! He brought the character of the movie. His frame was gorgeous, and his footwork was amazing. I didn’t think he would be good at ballroom dances, but he can do anything he put’s his mind too! However I felt they were underscored. Absolutely outstanding! (8,8,8,8=32)
Betsey Johnson & Tony Dovolani (Contemporary) - A beautiful dance and song for a beautiful transformed women! “Ghost” the story portrayed was on point, the dance was gorgeous. The flexibility she has, and the grace and extensions of her lines are just unbelievable. On that dance floor she does not look like a 72 year old. Age is just a number because she dances likes a young women. I do agree she needs to point her toes more but other then that, it was gorgeous! (7,9,6,7=29)
Lea Thompson & Artem Chigvintsev (Cha Cha Cha) - Of course Lea would get “Back To The Future” ! She has honestly surprised me so much! I never thought she was going to be as good as she is, not to mention the smile on her face when she dances is contagious. Yes she did miss passes, but honestly I barely noticed it. She did hesitate a few times but overall she did an amazing job! Awesome Job! (7,8,8,8=31)
Michael Waltrip & Emma Slater (Waltz) - “Robin Hood” I am so blown away by your effort into this competition! You can see he is trying so damn hard and sometimes he just can’t do it. Tonight he was so graceful, and a million times better then he has ever been. The heel leads were there, and the lines were there. Yes of course he has a lot to work on with the posture and frame. But what an improvement, great job! (7,7,7,7=28)
Antonio Sabato Jr. & Cheryl Burke (Foxtrot) - “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Holy Crap what a big improvement, the fun and smile he had and was having is unreal! The fast footwork he was doing was outstanding and just having fun out there. He was defiantly stiff at some points and he looks like he isn’t breathing. He just needs to relax and have confidence. Very proud of him because I want to see him do well because he is really trying! Great job! (7,7,7,8=29)
Sadie Robertson & Mark Ballas (Viennese Waltz) - “Up” That was the cutest dance and Viennese waltz I have seen as a while. That was so smooth, and clean and precise it was amazing! The choreography was genius with the music, and her frame was unbelievable perfect! I do agree her arms bothered me, because they were so flimsy, just have a little more strength in her arms when she moves. Other then that, it was outstanding! (8,8,8,8=32)
Jonathan Bennet & Allison Holker (Tango) - “The Great Gatsby” I feel for Allison, it can be tough to stay true to your personality and still giving traditional choreography! This time there was plenty of tango content, and they kept in hold the whole time! I’m so glad they took the judges comments seriously because this amazing performance is what came from it. Just you could see his shoulders going down and loosing his posture a bit. Overall such an improvement and an awesome job! (8,8,8,8=32)
Janel Parrish & Valentin Chmerkovskiy (Jazz) - “West Side Story” What in the world was that! That was unbelievable, she was miss America by far tonight! I can’t believe she just did that, that was absolutely perfection and deserves 10’s! The choreography, the dancing, the personality, everything second of that dance was absolutely perfect, and was like a Broadway show! Perfection in my eyes! (10,10,10,10=40)
Tommy Chong & Peta Murgatroyd (Argentine Tango) - “Scent of a Woman.” If i was everyone else I’d be a little scared of Tommy Chong right now! I am in shock, in awe, and just blown away at what this man can do! He is so in control, he can bring the sexiness, and he hasn’t missed one step in all his dances! I am so proud of him, and just love watching him because he is the most shocking out of all the dancers here! This performance honestly deserves 10’s! That was memorizing and perfection in my opinion! (8,10,8,8=34)
Bethany Mota & Derek Hough (Jazz) - “Singing In The Rain” clearly the most famous movie of the night! I just don’t understand why Val wasn’t allowed to use any moves from West Side Story, and yet Derek could? It honestly makes no sense! But for Bethany her personality was all there, she didn’t hesitate, she brought the character and energy and respect that dance deserved! Everyone was right, she is transforming into a women before our very eyes! Perfection! (10,10,10,10=40)
What an amazing night of dancing! Everyone pushed their selves to the limit, and so many people improved drastically! So sad to see Randy go home so soon! He was working so hard and did a good job! Going to miss him! Also Kevin Hart was an amazing, he was so funny! I would love for him to come back one day!
